How we score — honestly
An estimate is only useful if you can trust it. Here is exactly what we measure, how, and where the limits are. We would rather under-promise than show you a number we can't stand behind.
What is auto-scored vs estimated
Listening & Reading — auto-scored
These have right and wrong answers, so we score them exactly against an answer key. For the questions you answer, the result is precise; we then map your percentage to an estimated band.
Writing & Speaking — AI-estimated
There is no single "correct" essay, so our AI estimates a band on each official criterion — Task Response, Coherence & Cohesion, Lexical Resource, Grammatical Range & Accuracy for Writing; Fluency & Coherence, Lexical Resource, Grammar and (with the voice version) Pronunciation for Speaking — using the public IELTS band descriptors and CEFR.
When you should use a human marker
Use a human Writing Review or Mock Speaking when the decision matters: you're within 0.5 of the band you need, your test is close, or your AI estimate has plateaued. A certified teacher confirms the band and is logged next to the AI estimate so our model keeps improving.
What we never do
We never call a Ledoly result "official", "accredited", "endorsed", or "guaranteed". We never promise a specific band by a date. We never reproduce real exam papers — every passage, question, and model answer on Ledoly is original, written in the same format and difficulty as the real test.
Your data & privacy
When the voice version launches, your speech is processed only to score your pronunciation and is treated as sensitive personal data. We tell you before any recording and you can take the typed predictor instead.

Ledoly là nền tảng độc lập, không liên kết hay được chứng thực bởi IELTS, British Council, IDP hay Cambridge. Mọi điểm số là điểm luyện tập ước tính, không phải kết quả IELTS chính thức.
